Me, a Hawaiian: “While Hawai’i had a queen we were at the forefront of innovation, technological advancement, and international alliances. All the way up until the “democratic” government of the US illegally arrested her in her own palace and threatened to kill her and massacre her people unless she signed her country over to them. I’d like to have a queen who cares more about her peoples lives than her power again. Also, fuck Trump.”
Reposting cause I can and it’s still relevant
Its worth mentioning that Hawaii is also one of the few countries with a mythic, “Hero King” who they can actually prove existed. King Kamehameha the Great (yes like in Dragon Ball Z), was seven feet tall, the guardian of the war god Kukaʻ ilimoku, and took Hawaii from an archipelago of rival Kingdoms who hadn’t really gotten out of the Bronze Age, unified him under his dominion, and turned the Kingdom of Hawaii into a global trading empire who’s monarchs were greeted at the Court of Queen Victoria.
Guys I’m legit about to cry.
A post I made has over a thousand notes!! And most importantly it’s starting a conversation and spreading knowledge about what was done to my culture.
It is also so heartwarming to go in the notes and find people sharing more information and sources! And even more so to see that only two idiots decided to chime in with their misinformation.
Like, I am damn PROUD of y’all tumblr, we out here learning how to respect each other’s cultures and it’s dooooope!!!!
When are people gonna learn that some of your fave Woke Black men are only using that as a marketing ploy. THEY š DON'Tš CAREšABOUTš WOMEN

āThough the move drew praise, it also infuriated the music industry, forcing Spotify ā just two months out from its stock-market debut ā to repair a fissure with artists. Representatives for several acts, including rapper Kendrick Lamar, called Spotify Chief Executive Officer Daniel Ek and head of artist relations Troy Carter to express their frustration. They also threatened to pull their music if the company maintained its current policy.ā
This is what I donāt understand about Black men. If you feel like theyāre unfairly targeting Black male artists then why not create a movement where all artists, regardless of race who have been accused of sexual assault would have their music removed? Why call and have the music of abusers reinstated when the music of all abusers can be removed? Oh nvm, I know why, itās because yāall hate women and donāt care about us.
Kendrick couldāve just as easily called and given Spotify the names of known male abusers of other races and said āpull their music too or elseā and wouldāve gotten better results without drawing ire from anyone. But instead he called to get their songs reinstated like I just donāt get it.
Itās the same across the board of all males and once you pull the thread the entire fabric of Black music will unravel. Itās so entirely marred with abusers, rapist, pedophiles, etc. Like you said, he could have asked for equal punishment across racial lines but heād rather ask for impunity. Itās such a black male thing to do. When they look to their left and their right all they see is offenders, hell even when they look in the mirror. Why punish his peers, then who next? Him? No, black males canāt accept that.

A few months ago I ripped apart a Moana doll and made it into a stop-motion puppet using a kinetic armature kit. Ā
The walk cycle above was the first thing I animated with this puppet, and was just a throw-away practice test with no green screen. I had never done a walk cycle in stop-motion before and soon discovered how difficult animating a straight-ahead cycle within a localized space with no retakes could be.
I showed the cycle to my dad while he was holding my Moana puppet in his hand and he seemed more impressed with this crappy test than the actual animation I did on the movie! I think the combination of him holding the puppet, and then seeing it come to life on the video before him was what blew him away. I guess thatās the appeal and magic of stop-motion. :)
Hereās a second test I animated for fun:
I read that itās best to have the foot joints nice and tight to hold the weight of the puppet, and have the arms looser.Ā Itās amazing how much weight those toe and foot ball-joints could hold for the falling poses:
